How to Train to Withstand Super Cold Temperatures | Sport & Survival, Ep. 3

Alaska is taking its toll on Patrick Sweeney as he fights his way through the first three days of the extreme mountain bike race, the Iditarod Trail Invitational. Struggling not to bivvy, he arrives at the first check point, Yetna, for a few hours reprieve from the fierce 10 degree weather and difficult terrain.

The Iditarod trail is not friendly. This is fat bike racing like you've never seen it before, with lessons on how to train for racing in extreme cold weather and a few unusual refueling practices picked up from racers along the way. Join Patrick on this 350-mile mountain bike race across Alaska in the dead of winter 2014.
