The
UCI Mountain Bike World Cup has been coming to Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada for 24
years and in that time little has changed about the classic course. It starts
out pretty mellow then heads into some blind jumps. After a speedy runout, it
slingshots riders into one of the flowy technical sections that the course
shapers of Mont-St-Anne do so well. The course then alternates between wide-open
speed sections and tight, rocky, technical sections, with one of the most
difficult saved for the end. Ride along on Marcelo Gutierrez's chest-mounted Go
Pro and you'll swear you feel every root and
rock.
