Dutch Champion Jeroen van Eck crashes out in semi-finals

"I had a great feeling ahead of the first 2017 UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup in The Netherlands. My team is based here in Apeldoorn. Almost the entire squad is represented. Coming into the semi-finals, I lost my balance and got down on my front wheel. Then I went into the barriers. What a bummer! I didn't expect this to happen but that's part of the job," says Jeroen van Eck.

Gegenheimer motivated ahead of the finals in Antwerp

"I'm really looking forward to the finals in Antwerp. I'll give my best shot to come away with the overall. It feels good to win my second World Cup after not being qualified in Winterberg (Gegenheimer slipped away in Winterberg during the time trial). I'm happy the XCE World Cup series have found their way back to the highest level. The hosting cities delivered fantastic rounds with an amazing atmosphere in a different way. It would be so cool to get that title in Antwerp. "

Ambitious 19-year-old Serres ready to fight for the overall title

"Rien n'est perdue (It's not over yet)," concludes Serres after winning the small finals ahead of Simon Rogier, finishing respectively in fifth and sixth place. "It will be a hard task but not an impossible one to be on top of the podium in Antwerp in three weeks," says round 1 winner Lorenzo Serres.
